Confirmation
Confirmation is one of the seven sacraments through which Catholics pass in the process of their religious upbringing. According to Catholic doctrine, in this sacrament they receive the Holy Spirit and become adult members of the Catholic Church.

Those interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation, must be at least 16 years of age (Junior year of high school), must have had Religious Education within the last 2 years, has received the Sacrament of Baptism and the Sacrament of First Communion.  Please contact Becky Villrrubia at 504-834-9977, Ext. 2, or email stlouisrectory@archdiocese-no.org.

Request for Sacramental Records and Permission Forms
Sacramental Records and Parish Permission Forms are often requested by Church Parishes for a number of different reasons (having your child baptized outside of your Church parish, being married outside of your Church parish, to stand as a sponsor for a Baptism or Confirmation, etc.).

If you are in need of a copy of your Sacramental Record or a Permission Form, please contact the Parish Secretary, 504-834-9977 Ext. 2.  The cost is $5 and can submitted in person or by mail.  The Sacramental Record or Permission Letter can be picked up from the Rectory, mailed to your home or faxed to the Church requesting the documentation.  All paperwork requested must be signed by our Pastor, so please allowed 3-4 business days to complete all necessary documentation and signature.

Baptism
St. Louis King of France holds its Baptisms on the 3rd weekend of each month.  Baptisms can be schedued for Saturday at 5pm (following 4pm Mass) or Sunday at 1pm (following Spanish Mass).  Families can choose which is best for them.  The Baptismal Ceremony is performed by our Pastor, Rev. Mark Raphel, Fr. Suvakin Arulandu, or Deacon Glen Casanova.  Parents are asked to call or come to the rectory at least 3 weeks prior to the desired date,  At this time, the parish secretary will ask you for information required for our records.  All information requested is required by the Archdiocese of New Orleans and must be completed in full  in order to be approved for the ceremony to occur. 

• The child's parent(s) or legal guardian(s) are the only ones who can request that the child be baptized.
• If the child was born outside of wedlock, it is required at an Affidavit of Non-Marriage is filled out in full, by BOTH parents, and legally notarized.
• Anyone requesting Baptism that lives outside of our parish MUST obtain permission by their "home" parish to have their child baptized in our church. 
• We require a copy of the child's Birth Certificate.
• Godparents:  We require proof of confirmation for each Godparent.  This is obtained by contacting the Church where they were Baptized, or the Church where they were Confirmed, BOTH Churches would have this information. If a Godparent was Baptized or Confirmed at St. Louis King of France, the information will be in our record books and verified by our staff.  Godparents who are NOT confirmed cannot stand as a    
• "Witness" and their name cannot be put on the Baptismal Certificate. 
• Paperwork required by other Churches can be dropped off, mailed to our office, or faxed (504) 834-9979. 
• Let me assure you that the paperwork we require is requested on a daily basis, is easily obtained, and only 
• requires a phone call.     

On the day of your child's Baptism, you will receive a Baptismal Certificate signed by the priest/deacon who perforrns the ceremony.  There is no "cost" to have your child Baptized in our Church, however, a donations are accepted and appreciated.

Marriage
Couples who wish to be married in our Church are asked to contact the Parish Secretary.  Information will be gathered, (names, dates, contact information,etc.) and submitted to Fr. Mark Raphael.  Fr. Mark will personally contact the couple with information and questions.

There are two tiers of pricing for having your wedding at St. Louis King of France.
Parishioners of St. Louis King of France Parish is $400
Non-Parishioners of St. Louis King of France Parish:  $600

Funerals
These guidelines are prepared to clarify how funeral arrangements are conducted within our Parish. If you are reading this for the first time, please accept our sympathy and promise to do all that we can to help you in this time of deep sorrow.

Typically, our office is contacted by the Funeral Home in which arrangements have been made.  At this time, the Parish Secretary will collect the following information:

• The Name and Age of the Deceased
• Date of Passing
• The Date and Time requested for the Funeral
• Funeral Home where services are to take place 
• Will the Funeral Mass take place at the Funeral Home or our Church?
• Cemetery being used for the burial
• Family member contact name and number
